As a Results On Purpose business coach, I get to witness a lot of powerful moments with clients — but one of my favorites happens every year around this time: planning the final quarter.

Yesterday, I sat down with the senior leadership team at PayNW in Nashville. This wasn’t just any quarterly planning session — it was the twelfth and final quarter of their three-year strategic plan.

Why is this one of my favorite meetings? Because it’s not about scrambling to catch up. It’s about finishing strong. The focus is clear: what needs to happen in the next 13 weeks to cross the finish line?

Because this team has stayed focused — quarter after quarter, year after year — they’re not limping into the end of the year. They’re coming in cool. Calm. Collected. Confident.

Has everything gone perfectly? Of course not. We’ve been wrong about a few things. But they didn’t lose sight of the destination. They pivoted when needed. They pushed through when it mattered. They kept moving.

And here’s the moment I love most: when the leadership team realizes they’re about to finish the year exactly where they said they would — having accomplished everything on the business that they committed to three years ago.
